Returns & Refunds

Our Returns Policy

At Mom's Salty Fish, we take great pride in the quality of every batch we prepare. Due to the perishable nature of dry fish (karuvadu), we are generally unable to accept returns once an order has been delivered.

Returns are not accepted for change of mind, taste preference, or incorrect quantity ordered. Please review your order carefully before placing it.

However, we absolutely stand behind the quality of our products. If there is a genuine issue with your order, we will make it right.

When You Can Request a Refund

We will process a full refund or replacement in the following situations:

  • Damaged product: The vacuum-sealed packaging arrived broken, torn, or compromised during shipping.
  • Wrong item delivered: You received a different product from what you ordered.
  • Significantly short weight: The product weight is significantly less than what was ordered (verified after weighing).
  • Spoiled or off product: The product appears or smells spoiled due to a packaging failure (not due to improper storage after delivery).

Please note: The natural strong aroma of dry fish is expected and is not grounds for a refund. Karuvadu has a characteristic smell that is part of the product.

How to Report an Issue

If you receive a damaged or incorrect order, please follow these steps:

  1. Open and inspect your order within 24 hours of delivery.
  2. Take clear photographs of the damaged packaging, the product, and the shipping label showing your order details.
  3. Contact us on WhatsApp at +91 88708 41167 or email us at support@momssaltyfish.com with the photos and your order number.
  4. Our team will review the issue and respond within 1 business day.
  5. Once approved, your refund or replacement will be processed.

Issues reported after 24 hours of delivery cannot be processed. Please check your order as soon as it arrives.

Refund Processing

Once your refund request is approved:

  • Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of approval.
  • For UPI payments, the refund will be credited back to the original UPI account used for payment.
  • For Cash on Delivery orders, the refund will be transferred via UPI or bank transfer to the details you provide.
  • You will be notified via WhatsApp or SMS once the refund has been initiated.

Replacements

In some cases, instead of a refund, we may offer to send a replacement product at no additional charge. We will discuss the best resolution with you when you contact us about your issue.

Order Cancellations

You may cancel your order before it has been dispatched. To cancel:

  • Contact us immediately on WhatsApp or via email with your order number.
  • Once an order has been dispatched (shipped), it cannot be cancelled.
  • If cancelled before dispatch, a full refund will be issued within 5–7 business days.
